Dispatcher (Part-Time)

Job Summary:
The
individual in this role will collect inventory levels and dispatch fuel
transport drivers with specific loading and unloading instructions (dispatch
paperwork) in order to maintain adequate fuel levels to meet current demands at
company operated locations as well as various customer locations. The individual in this role must be able to receive,
read and understand various types of communication formats and pricing
structures.

Essential Functions (in a typical work week):
Any
employee may be required by their manager to perform any of the duties
described in their position description, and other duties which may be
necessary or desirable for which the employee is qualified.
Dispatching
●
Dispatches and
arranges schedules for drivers and vehicles, including outside carriers; assign
driver routes, destinations and timelines
●
Coordinates with
drivers and outside carriers to resolve any issues, problems, or concerns that
arise during delivery
●
Dispatches drivers in
a systematic order to ensure there is no overlapping or backtracking of routes
●
Completes dispatch
paperwork accurately and timely, to ensure deliveries are made from the correct
supply points to the final destinations in a safe and efficient manner.
●
Records bill of
ladings for incoming drivers; ensures correct locations are receiving products
●
Reviews reports to
identify priority for deliveries to ensure that locations have an adequate
supply of petroleum products
●
Reviews various types
of communication formats, from multiple vendors, to review pricing and to make
informed decisions for pick up points at fuel racks. Must take in to account tax rates, alternate
pricing strategies, driver workloads, geographic factors, etc.
●
Answers and responds
to incoming calls related to fuel outages at stores; works with internal
partners to resolve issues
●
Maintains working
knowledge of Federal, State, and local rules and regulations, including, but
not limited to, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Department
of Transportation (DOT) and Company policies, guidelines and procedures
Secondary

The individual in this position may be asked,
on occasion, to assist other positions as needed/necessary.
Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated expertise
with Word, Excel, and other MS Office suite applications
●
Knowledge of fuel
tanker operations
●
Excellent
communication skills and the ability to research and resolve issues

Education and Experience:
●
High school diploma or
equivalent required.
●
A combination of
relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education preferences.
Physical Requirements:
●
Prolonged periods
sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
●
Must be able to lift
up to 15-25 pounds at times. Occasionally may be required to lift 50+ pounds or
more.
●
Must possess a valid drivers
license and have a driving record that is insurable by company insurance
Work Environment:
●
General office
environment.
●
Saturdays and Sundays
12pm to ~4pm. Some evening hours may be
required. Some work on holidays are
required. Some work on week days may be requested.
●
Frequent telephone
contact.
●
Works with other
departments to deliver optimal service and meet goals.
●
Intermittent travel to
shuttle drivers, assist in deliveries and/or pick up parts may be necessary
